Mackenzie grew up in Arnold MD where she attended Severn High School and earned All-Conference as a junior … Second team All-County as junior and senior … Team captain and led Severn in scoring as junior and senior … Team MVP as a junior … Voted team’s best attacker as a senior … Played in Under Armour All-Star Game as a freshman … Member of CCLAX club team for four years and Maryland United for one year.

Mackenzie took her playing career to High Point University where she was  ,Big South Offensive Player of the Year, 3x All-Big South 1st Team, 2x Player of the Year. She is also High Point Program’s Leader in goals, assists and points.

Upon Graduation Mackenzie lived in Texas where she coached at Highland Park as the Assistant Varsity, Head JV and Head 7th/8th Grade Coach for 3 seasons while also working full-time as the Admission Coordinator at The Episcopal School of Dallas. Kirkup and her husband moved back east in 2018 .

Rankings look at each individual team per age group and are determined using the following factors: Tournament strength, playoff outcomes, undefeated points, winning percentage and bracket placement. Our Sound Lacrosse program prides itself on competing in the top brackets of the best fall and summer tournaments.
